Definition of Reiki
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Reiki is the the union of absolute consciousness and living energy. Reiki is in every breath, yet beyond the breath. It is you and I, the perfume of the jasmine blooms, the blow of the wind, the blinking charm of the star, the expanding warmth in the heart, the smile of a stranger, the water of the ocean, the blood and sweat of the body, and the mysterious intelligence behind and beyond all that is. This absolute intelligence created an amazing spiral of a sunflower and a snail shell, the magnificent complexity of human body and the cosmos and is manifesting this very second through your heartbeat, the warmth of your skin, and the vibration of the sounds around you. Because of the evolutionary stage of humanity, where we create our self images and get attached to them, where we identify ourselves with our limited thoughts and emotions, where our past hurts rule our present reactions, where we are blinded by our self weaved web of perceptions and limitations, we feel separated from the divine, alone, and fearful.
Reiki is the link to unity.

When I first received Reiki attunement, I felt the energy in my hands right away. To be more accurate, some time before the attunement, my hands began to feel rather strange at times. I would feel odd tingling and numbness in my hands. I felt energy I didn’t know what to do with. As I received my first Reiki attunment, it all came together. I felt everything right away, the waves of energy when I first laid my hands on my classmate and her aura. It felt like I always knew how to do it.
When I went home the same night, my boyfriend complained of back pain. Timidly, I offered healing. Not only his pain went away, but he felt powerful heat coming from my hands, his whole body felt on fire, which frightened him for he never experienced anything like this before.
As I laid Reiki healing hands on numerous people and send healing long distance, I witnessed the magic of Reiki over and over. To this day I am in awe of power of Reiki.
Once a person is attuned to Reiki, he is forever linked to this awesome reality. One can never lose this connection no matter what. But it is up to you how deep you will connect to unity, or how close you move toward love. Authentic Reiki is not a religion or doctrine. No matter what a person’s believes are, Reiki will harmonize their life on many levels.
Authentic Reiki Ryoho system is a specific way of sharing God’s energy. Reiki is a way of loving. A way of sharing our wholeness and divinity.
